GOLD STANDARD CERTIFICATE

Gold Standard was founded in 2003 by a group of non-governmental organizations, including the WWF. It is the most rigorous and reputable certification program on a global scale for carbon offset needs.

The Gold Standard is supported by more than eighty institutions, including the United Nations and many national governments and companies.

The certificate assures that energy efficiency and renewable energy projects actually reduce CO2 emissions and local people benefit from it.

Gold Standard projects are reviewed by independent credible auditors of the United Nations.

Gold Standard projects require the participation of local people.

The certificate approves projects that respect nature, contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and the sustainable use of natural resources.

Gold Standard certificates are calculated as one ton of CO2 equivalent greenhouse gas emissions, and electricity production is calculated with a combined margin emission factor.

Borusan EnBW Enerji has Gold Standard energy certificate for Renewable Energy Facilities Balabanlı WPP, Bandırma WPP, Koru WP, Harmanlık WPP, Fuatres WPP, Mut WPP, Kartaldağı WPP.

The development process for the Saros WPP facility continues.

GLOBAL CARBON COUNCIL

Borusan EnBW Enerji has applied for the GLOBAL CARBON COUNCIL (GCC) energy certificate for the Kiyikoy Wind Power Plant, and the development process is ongoing.

GCC is a voluntary carbon offset program that aims to help organizations reduce their carbon footprint, help diversify the economy by adopting a low-carbon economy, and catalyze climate action.

Program,

- To support organizations in the implementation of greenhouse gas reduction projects and measures,

- Establishing a market system between the greenhouse gas reduction project owners who want to sell their carbon offsets and the project supporters who provide carbon financing to the project owners,

- It aims to create transparent and simple certification processes in accordance with the international protocol for the commissioning of the carbon offset program, which can provide highly reliable, cost-effective and sustainable carbon offsets to organizations.

Thanks to voluntary carbon certificates, customers can support their renewable energy investments by balancing their greenhouse gas emissions.
